BOOK CLUB
Feb 21st
6:30 pm
If you got some good pictures of
any part of our anniversary
celebration could you see that
the church office gets a copy of
them, via email or a hard copy.
Send them to
SOTHOFFICE@jcwifi.com.
Thanks, Pastor Barbara J. Rapp
We are pleased to announce that
the Church Phone Directory is
now available on our website. It is
located on the Community tab
drop-down list and is a password
protected PDF file. This will keep
our personal information secure
and allow us to have a current
copy available to the
congregation. If you would like to
access it, drop us an e-mail at
SOTHoffice@jcwifi.com
requesting the password and we’ll
send it via return e-mail. This
password will also be used to
protect our Monthly Financial
Statements and Council Meeting
Minutes which will be posted on
the website as they become
available. There are printed
copies available in the Welcome
area for those that do not use the
Internet.
We have a grocery cart in the
entry way to receive your gifts.
The local food pantry benefits,
and our donations stay right
here in Jo Daviess County
helping our neighbors in need.
This month the need is soup,
cereal, canned meats(tuna,
chicken), pancake mix/syrup
and one box meals.
The Annual Report Booklets will
be distributed on Sunday,
January 15, 2012. This year we
are offering a PDF electronic
version to save on printing costs
and be better stewards of the
environment. If you haven’t put
your name on the sign-up sheet
to receive the electronic version
and would like to get it in that
format, simply send an e-mail to
SOTHoffice@jcwifi.com and
request it. If you attend here
regularly, we will be glad to
provide one for you, too.
Although you don't have a vote,
you are welcome to join us for
the meeting.
This month’s selection is “Heaven is
for Real.” Is there life after death?
Just ask 4-year-old Colton, who
emerged from life-threatening surgery
with astounding details about heaven!
Colton's account includes floating
away, looking down on his dad
praying in the hospital, seeing God's
throne, and meeting relatives---
including his sister who died in a
miscarriage (and whom his parents
had never mentioned). Riveting! Join
us Tuesday evening, February 21st,
at 6:30 - 8 pm as we discuss this
fascinating book and the ramifications
it has for our own faith journey.
.
Our next Coffee & Bible
Study will be held on
February 15th at our
regular time of 8 am. This
month we will delve into
Mark 9:2–9, Mark’s gospel
presents the transfiguration
as a preview of what would
become apparent to Jesus’
followers after he rose from
the dead. Confused
disciples are given a vision
of God’s glory manifest in
the beloved Son. Come and
enjoy the coffee, some
special goodies, good
fellowship and dig into the
Word of God.
