The full July calendar with daily events can be viewed by clicking here. Second Summer Brunch Sunday, July 13: The Church Council of Shepherd of the Hills has scheduled the second summer brunch for the year. It will be held on Sunday, July 13 from 8:30 – 10am in the Fellowship Center (lower level). Money donated for the brunch will go to ELCA World Hunger, which can be designated for Domestic Relief, i.e., Iowa and Illinois. You will not go away hungry from this brunch. THE NEED IS GREAT!! Give generously. Men's Bible Study/Coffee Wednesday, July 16: The July gathering for Men's Bible Study/Coffee will be Wednesday, July 16 at 8:00am in the Gathering Center. All men of the Church (and friends) are welcome to join us at any time. We offer insights and analysis of the Cubs, Brewers, and the Bible by experts. Vacation Bible School Friday, July 25 & Saturday, July 26: We are going “Green” with a rainforest adventure that no one will want to miss! Shepherd of the Hills Vacation Bible School is scheduled for Friday, July 25, and Saturday, the 26th with the VBS program to be held at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday, July 27. If you have children, grandchildren, or neighbors with kids age pre-school through sixth grade invite them to participate. Contact VBS coordinator Leigh Stoewer for more information or to register your children. Volunteers are needed as well to help make this a memorable event. The Rock and The Rabbi Saturday, July 26: Our church will be sponsoring a one-day trip to Fort Atkinson’s Fireside Theater on Saturday, July 26, 2008. We will be attending The Rock and The Rabbi, a contemporary Christian musical about a Fisherman, Simon Peter, and a Teacher, Jesus, narrated in a storytelling format through the eyes of the apostle Peter. The production has been described as “an intimate, funny and thrilling tale of friendship, betrayal, forgiveness, and reconciliation,” and it is appropriate entertainment for all ages. A Tri-State Travel Charter Coach will leave SotH’s parking lot at 8 a.m. and will return approximately 6 p.m. A three-course lunch at the Fireside restaurant is included. Cost of this trip is $80.00 per person. Paid reservations may be made with Sue Cording or Pastor Barb. We have reserved 42 seats that will be available to members and friends of SotH on a first come, first served basis. If unfilled seats remain after April 1, 2008, the travel opportunity will be opened up to the general public. Get your reservation early. If you have questions, please contact Sue Cording. Pictorial Directories If you have not
yet picked up your pictorial directory, please see Pastor Barb, Kari
Gehrts, or Karen Velsor. We are asking that you give a minimum donation
of $5.00 to offset the cost of the directory. If you did not get your
picture into the directory, it is not too late. See Ray Israel, who
will be glad to “snap your photo” for addition to the
directory. This is true for those “regular visitors” at
SotH too. |
